When Brady called me to tell me about her wedding, taking place 5 minutes from my house, I was so excited to hear all about her plans! Brady and Aaron's small backyard wedding was filled with their loved ones, as they said "made the cut." Even those behind the scenes had a special place in Brady's heart. Brady worked for Tom and Kathy West, owners of Mockingbird Cafe, who catered the wedding with meals inspired by Brady and Aaron's explorations around the world.
I knew some of the events that were going to take place from my meeting with Brady and Aaron, like their groomsmen playing the fiddle before the ceremony, and the airline beverage cart at the entrance of the aisle (how cool is that?!) What I didn't know was how much fun we, the photographers, would have at the wedding too. Brady and Aaron's ceremony was filled with so much emotion, both tears and laughter. At the end of the ceremony, Aaron took his wedding band off to read the inscription, which read "Put it back on." Those are the moments when I'm really happy to have a fast shutter speed, because I was laughing all the while taking pictures!
Right after Brady and Aaron recessed down the aisle, it was like a scene from Runaway Bride, only the bride wasn't running from her groom, but running to the bar for a drink before greeting her guests!
The reception was held in a gorgeous tent with bare wooden tables and shawls wrapped around the seats for the ladies. What a dream! The food was delivered to each table for the guests to share "family style," and all the recipes for the meals and drinks were in the booklets at each table.
Thank you Brady and Aaron for including us in your special day!
